International Business Management Course

Aberdeen Business School at Robert Gordon University invites undergraduate students to apply for the International Business Management Course.

The new International Business Management degree has been designed to develop the managerial, business, intercultural and personal skills required in contemporary global business. The course is grounded in general business subjects and incorporates theory and practice which builds your understanding of international management today.

You will also learn and develop competency in a range of transferable skills and knowledge - in computing and communications and in analytical methodologies, presentation and teamwork practice. These are the key skills which have been identified by employers as essential for a business professional and will equip and enable you to operate successfully within the highly competitive and challenging international business environment.

The course combines a unique blend of modules. In the first stages (1 and 2) you will be introduced and given a grounding in the basic principles of business management. Later in the course there is the opportunity to choose and focus on specific areas of international business.

An essential part of this course is that students must study abroad at some point in their studies. Working or studying overseas provides valuable knowledge and experience and can be an advantage when applying for international business roles in the future.

Study abroad can be arranged through the university Erasmus Programme, an exchange with one of our partner Business Schools in Europe, all of which are of the highest standing in their respective countries. When you study abroad, you will be taught and assessed in English but also have the opportunity to learn the local language.

This can be done either in Semester 1 of Year 2, or in Year 3 (both Semesters) and a placement can be arranged through our dedicated Placement Office. In this placement you will work in a real job and report to a manager who will assess your performance on a regular basis.

RGU offers a range of scholarships for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Winning a scholarship can be an easy way of boosting your income, leaving you free to concentrate on your studies.

The following scholarships are for students on undergraduate courses taught at Aberdeen Business School:
  • The KCA Deutag Business Scholarship
  • Petrofac Business Scholarship
  • Talisman Management Scholarship
The university has established close associations with employers and organisations both locally and nationally and their support for the school is invaluable. Some employers provide a number of prizes, awarded at various stages of undergraduate or postgraduate study, through which they encourage and recognise the effort and enterprise shown by many of our students.
