Chevening Scholarships 2013/14

Applications for 2013/14 Chevening Scholarships are now open. Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The programme makes awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study postgraduate courses at universities in the UK.

The Chevening programme began in 1983 and has developed into a prestigious international scheme. Chevening Scholars come from over 116 countries worldwide (excluding the USA and the EU), and this year the Scholarships will support approximately 700 individuals. There are over 41,000 Chevening alumni around the world who together comprise an influential and highly regarded global network.

Youth Encountering Environmental Human Rights

We invite you to apply for the study session “Youth Encountering Environmental Human Rights” (24.02.-02.03.2013) that will take place at the European Youth Centre in Budapest.

This study session aims to promote active youth participation in environmental human rights education and peaceful activism. We have prepared this activity for youth workers, educators, activists- anyone interested to explore the topic of environmental human rights, willing to share their histories of participation and learn new ways of engaging in local and global environmental matters. 

Danish Government Scholarships for Qualified Non-EU/EEA Students

The Danish Government welcomes highly qualified and motivated international students from all over the world to study in Denmark. A number of scholarships are therefore offered each year by the Danish Ministry of Education to fund students from countries outside the European Union/ European Economic Area. The scholarships can be awarded for a full degree programme or for part of a degree programme at undergraduate or postgraduate level.

Graz International Summer School Seggau 2013

The Graz International Summer School Seggau is designed for internationally oriented, highly motivated students from all disciplines, who wish to deepen their understanding of current European and international affairs by concentrating on the regions of South Eastern Europe and the Americas and by studying and discussing global developments and challenges within the context of collective issues reflecting aspects of individual, social, political, cultural, regional, economic, cohort and national identities. In 2013, Graz International Summer School Seggau will take place on June 30th - July 13th under the general topic  "Collective Identities: Nationalism, Transnationalism – Europe and Beyond". The event is held in Seggau Castle that is located about 40km south of Graz, near the beautiful city of Leibnitz, Austria.

Internships at Greenpeace International in Amsterdam

The Research Unit at Greenpeace International is offering a 6 month internship position. Research internships are based in Amsterdam, Netherlands as full-time positions (40 hours per week) for a fixed term of 6 months. This internship option is ongoing. Monitor, capture, filter and organize information and market intelligence into databases for briefs and reports to ensure strategic information is available for Greenpeace’s campaigns and projects. This role is very detail orientated, involves multiple concurrent daily deadlines and administrative tasks within the research unit.

5th CEE Forum 2013 in Greifswald

The 5th CEE Forum for Young Legal, Political and Social Theorists will be held from Friday, 3 May to Saturday, 4 May 2013 in Greifswald at the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg in cooperation with the University of Greifswald.

The CEE Forum is a platform for young legal, political and social theorists who come from, currently study or work in Central and Eastern Europe or have a research interest in the region. The regional boundaries are understood widely. The target audiences of the conference are young researchers, espe-cially doctoral students and post-docs, without a specific age limit. As in the previous Forums, the conference will be organised in three concurrent panels and will put its special emphasis on two major general topics.

DAAD Master and PhD Scholarships 2013

Study scholarships are awarded to provide foreign graduates of all disciplines with opportunities to complete a postgraduate or Master’s degree course at a state (public) or state-recognized German higher education institution and to gain a degree in Germany (Master’s/Diplom).
 
Depending on the length of the chosen degree course or study project, the study scholarship will be awarded for between 10 and 24 months. Initially, scholarships are awarded for one academic year and can be extended for students with good study achievements to cover the full length of the chosen degree course.
